Banobagi Plastic Surgery (1 week Post Op)

Day 1 consultation day - The long awaited day to Banobagi Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Clinic

They have a lot of books and magazines like this. And the transformation is crazy, like from this one who looks very manly to this.

Actually there are a lot of stories behind these surgeries, some which are quite touching, when i see U 美人, Let Me In. Majority of the people can't understand why some people look okay yet they still want to go for plastic surgery. But when you go for plastic surgery, every surgery always carry a risk. I've seen many cases online of people losing their senses from the jaw bite, imperfection from symmetry as well as not being able to close their eyelid. But these are a few cases out of the millions of tourists who come to Korea to do plastic surgery every year. To the Koreans, plastic surgery is just like taking a visit to the dentist. And i guess that, as long as you do your adequate research and not be budget by going to cheap clinics, nothing will go wrong badly. Because from what i heard from China's reality tv, many tourists go to the wrong clinic, get the wrong doctor, and of course get bad results. Because plastic surgery is on the rise in Korea, many doctors, including vets and gynae who do not specialize in plastic surgery, like bone surgery and stuff, they all flock to become a plastic surgeon. And anesthesia is applied by the doctors and nurses themselves who are not properly trained. A surgeon is different from an anesthesiologist. As an anesthesiologist, it is very important to get the dosage right and if you put in too high of a dosage, the patient might die of shock or have other symptoms.

However, in Banobagi, i believe that my surgeons are professionally qualified based on the way they answer me with all their medical knowledge. You can also check Banobagi's doctors qualifications on realself. It's always good to check and know what procedure you're undergoing, whether your doctors are qualified, the success rate of their operations, and always be aware of the risks that you're taking.

Are you able to accept the face if the doctor screws up? Are you able to live with that imperfection for life? Is this what you really want because it is irreversible? Or since you're already feeling like shit, and looking like shit, and can't get any uglier, why not take the risk since there's nothing to be afraid of anymore.

Consultation and blood test day. Was very nervous because after all as it's quite a major surgery too, although i did jaw surgery before. The staff at Banobagi were very nice to assure me if i really wanted to do this and they didn't force me into anything. They told me that if i wanted to pull out they would be fine with it too, because it's a personal decision. But i felt that i really need this - Self confidence. I mean plastic surgery can give you the meanwhile hype about being pretty, but you have to be very aware of the dangerous addiction and your own psychological state that plastic surgery is not going to change your life drastically. Yes, you will become prettier but do not depend emotionally on this entirely.

Like honestly looking at these pictures, i wanted to be pretty, but everybody would be naturally scared especially seeing a lot of horror stories online.

Here's my private ward.

My big big nose, UGH.

Eating as much as i can before the surgery. And as usual, you have to fast 8 hours before the surgery, and 3-4 hours before you can drink water while waiting for the anesthetic to wear off.

This is me with makeup. I guess its quite obvious that i have a bulbous nose, i wouldn't really consider it a hump, but my nose is like pointing downwards which looks really droopy, as well as my forehead which is flat and lots of forehead lines because i tend to frown a lot.

And my bare face like how the doctors would always take it before the surgery T_T
I know it's ugly but i have to show you my flaws so that you'll understand why i want to go for this surgery, as accurately as possible.

Front view
You can obviously see my bulbous nose. The bone at the middle of my eyes is really thick, and it's not just the bulbous tip. Because i have bulbous bone as well, Dr Lee suggested me to shave the bone as well and the alar side. My nose bridge is quite high to begin with, so there is no need to add any silicon or shave anything. Then using the ear cartilage so that i will have a nice tip.

Upper view
And from here, you can see i have quite prominent cheekbones. Cheekbone reduction, also known as zygoma reduction is one of the more popular ways of surgery, besides jaw surgery to have a drastic change in appearance.

 45 degree side
My front flat forehead as well as my eyebags also make me appear very manly and sunken, therefore i did fat grafting for forehead, front cheek as well as chin.

By Dr Lee Hyun Teck - Nose and Fat Grafting
Nose bridge will not be touched, but droopy tip will be adjusted with ear cartilage and we will fixate nose tip with septal cartilage, proceeding with alar reduction to reduce nostril width and also lateral osteotomy on nose bridge to make slimmer nose bridge. No implant will be inserted, which is good, because i'm afraid of coming back for maintenance/infection. Fat grafting will be done on forehead frontal cheeks and little on front chin for balanced face.

Actually i showed Dr Lee these photos as this is my perfection to beauty, wanting my forehead round and a line joining to my nose.

Like this was what i want.

But not this.

I'm so lucky that he did not listen to my crappy idea of joining my nose to my forehead or shaving or adding on to my nose bridge, if not i'll look like a 蛇精女 or alien. So sometimes, it's better to listen to the doctor's advice instead, after all they are the ones with years of experience in this medical field and they know much more than us. Dr Lee is the surgeon in charge of rhinoplasty and eyes in Banobagi clinic, and there are many positive reviews of him online.

For Dr Park Jong Lim, zygoma reduction is done with botox injection on the jawline.
Dr Park was very nice and patient in explaining to me the anatomy of the skull and how he is going to cut my cheekbone and fix it. Actually i saw the videos on youtube beforehand, but still i did ask many stupid questions like, will my hearing will be affected or will my eyes be affected since the cheekbone support the eyeball and all. But he very nicely explained to me all the medical terms like a professor in medical school and told me not to worry and stuff.

So here, i'm going to post a more indept video on the procedures that i did since a lot people are pursuing plastic surgery nowadays, it's a basic that you should at least have some general knowledge of actually knowing what you're going to go through, although you're going to sleep throughout the general anesthesia and wake up looking pretty.

Rhinoplasty - Osteotomy

I also asked questions like will my bone be healed, or joined back together, and the answer is yes. Doing rhinoplasty there is a risk of having dried blood stuck and you have to sleep with your head (nose) elevated for quite some time. I also saw a video on youtube, where this guy after doing rhinoplasty only left one nostril to breathe, which is kind of scary to scare myself with before surgery.

But i guess, just as what Dr Park told me, even eating you'll get choked, even driving you'll get into accidents, as long as you follow the medical guidelines, nothing will go wrong. Which is after what he said, assured me.

Zygoma - Cheek reduction

Day 1
Just after post op - you'll be very uncomfortable. Pain level: 0/10. Discomfort level: 8/10. No drinking of water 3-4 hours after surgery to wear of anesthesia. Won't be that swollen, but your hair will look like shit, and you'll feel very very very uncomfortable. Choosing a right clinic is very important, especially day 1 after surgery. And Banobagi is the right place for surgery, they have a ward to stay in the clinic day 1 after surgery where they will take care of you, and there are nurses.

But don't keep pressing the bell unless there's an emergency, cos i think i pressed it 4-6 times in every hour, which i think you'll be quite pissed also if you're working and the patient keep pressing the bell for small matters. I believe the service and the standards of the doctors can be compared with Singapore too since many millions of patients around the world come here worldwide for plastic surgery. There's also reviews by China visitors on other Korea clinics where they'll just leave you there for hours after surgery. But my doctor is not bad, he visited me to ask me how i felt. Also asked me to cough more so that the phlegm from the anesthesia would be out, and to walk around to deswell, lower the temperature.

Day 2
I was discharged. Hardly had any sleep because it was so uncomfortable, didn't had any appetite to eat as well. The whole day i only drank one bottle of water and one soya bean milk. And then i puked out all the purple anesthesia or iodine and felt slightly better. Discharged on day 2, they had a guesthouse beside the clinic so it felt good to be back in my room. Forehead grafting was very red, waiting for the body to accept my own fats. Day 2 and 3 swelling and temperature would reach it's peak.

Tip: bring wet tissue and lip balm but go easy on your face because it's numb and you can't really feel what you're doing so be really gentle if you want to exfoliate skin.

Day 3
I couldn't take my hair and the itch anymore so i showered, but it was very risky not to expose my wounds to any water. Mouth only can open by 1cm, and there was very dry lips and dead skin on my face. Numbness was slowly wearing off, and i can feel itch. My sideview hehe, not bad right my forehead and nose. Started eating porridge.

 Day 4
Started to eat more, eat cheese fries already. By right i'm not supposed to. But by left, even after my wisdom teeth surgery the other time, i could eat kfc on the third day already. Not being able to eat is a torture, so i guess as long as i don't touch the stitches and gargle frequently, i don't see why not. Used my front teeth to bite the food and just swallow.

 Day 5

Mouth can open by 2cm already. Cheese fries and even instant noodles. But very important to keep your stitches clean as food stuck in between there's always a risk of infection. So, hahaha. But in life you have to risk, especially for food. But i think i always follow the guidelines. I look super different now, but still swelling so cannot see the final result yet.

Day 6 - Removing of the stitches

Loving my new nose now. I know a lot of people keep telling me, your nose very high lah, you do for what. Big nose is good, it means good fortune (the chinese believe in big nose = prosperity)

Well, but its so much better now. If doing plastic surgery don't have that difference, i wouldn't torture myself to put myself in so much discomfort right. But it's totally worth it.

Right after removing the stitches and putting the cast for protection, straightaway got a China girl come up to me and ask me which doctor i used cos she is intending to go for rhinoplasty, because obviously my nose is pretty that's why she come to me. So my surgery is a success, HAHAHA.

But the only thing sad is that i can't dig my nose any longer, i can't blow my nose, rub my nose which is quite sad. But for being pretty, i guess its worth it. And one tip is that, there'll really be a lot of dry blood after rhinoplasty and its best that you remove the dry blood, please don't leave it inside because it will cause an infection. Try to use a tissue and twist it and twist it into your nostrils but go easy on that. That's like my best tip so far.

So i tried putting on make-up today, like just eyebrow, contact lens and lip tint and hmm, what do you think? Actually going around in the train you can already realize 70-80% of the people done rhinoplasty before T_T and last time i didn't know because i didn't do before, you will only know after you've done rhinoplasty that whose nose is did before, it's damn obvious. But still, i would want that permanent result. My nose is not really considered fake also, hopefully after months my bone will heal, my ear cartilage will soften and i can do pig nose, then my nose would be 100% real already.
